Novak+Middleton were engaged by Wellington City Council to prepare concept designs, outline specifications and reports for the upgrade of the Wellington City Council’s social housing complexes.
34 sites throughout Wellington, comprising approximately 2100 units, were included within the scope of this project.
The work produced for this project involved suggestions and recommendations for improvements which would enhance the quality of life for the residents of Wellington City Council’s social housing. The concept designs are intended to upgrade the city’s existing housing stock to achieve a healthy, safe and secure standard suitable for modern living.
The concept design will form the future brief for the commissioning of subsequent preliminary and detailed design work. It is also intended that the work produced by Novak+Middleton will be used to establish the likely cost of future upgrade work and to assist the Wellington City Council to establish budgets and prioritise expenditure across the housing stock.
