Our clients brief required increasing the size of their office to occupy a whole floor within their current building. Novak+Middleton matched and enhanced the existing fitout into the new space to economically unify the new work within the existing. The reception was relocated closer to the entry point and internal to the building. Two new meeting rooms were added. The structuring of individual offices with clear and obscure glass partitions parallel to the windows allows light into the reception and interior spaces.
Finishes such as the white floor and aluminium trim inject freshness to the space while the timber reception desk, entry doors and acoustic ceiling panels add comfort and contribute a sense of ease. This was important for our clients.
The NZ made carpets were selected to provide softness, texture and impact while picking up on the new company colours.
This project was an exercise in providing quality internal office space and best design and construction in the available time. The key to the success of the design was getting light into an existing dark internal space.
